i did this look for a vintage themed photoshoot with my gf.
romantic pink with the classic winged eyeliner.

COLOUR LEGEND

maybelline hyperdiamond eyeshadow,
only using 3 shades this time.
C is the main lid colour, A the contouring colour, and B the highlighting colour.


using the darkest shade of the brow powder to line my lower lash line,
giving it the illusion of natural fuller looking lashes.

COLOUR MAP

1. apply C all over lid.
2. apply a tiny bit of A on the crease and slowly work it in.
3. apply B to add dimension to the eyes.


1. apply D on the lower lash line.
2. apply B on the lower lid to achieve the youthful eye look.

revlon colorburst matte balm 225 sultry & 210 unapologetic (Swatches and Review)

Revlon Matte Balm in 225 Sultry and 210 Unapologetic

it wasn't my original intention to get these because.. *throw a glance over at my lipstick collection*
but their application and colour payoff amazed me so much, i just had to.

their packaging resemble the just bitten balm stains a lot, just that the plastic has a "matte" look and feel that sets them apart. the colour of the casing matches the colour of the product! what you see is what you will get!

similar to the balm stains, they have a minty scent and sensation to it, however, these do not stain the lips. i really like the scent, along with the slightly cooling sensation upon application on my lips.






because even natural light has a whiter and yellower tone to it at different times of the day.
under white light, the shades appear more cool, while under yellow light, the shades become more warm.


upper lip is my natural lip colour.

210 unapologetic is a super bright (almost bordering on neon) warm pink.
it's not as blue as hot pink.
the balm stain is SUPER PIGMENTED, i warn you, one swipe is enough to get full opacity!
it is smooth like a baby's ass and it just glides on and deposits pigments like a dream.
after 2 swipes, the colour is even stronger and bolder!


i tried to blot it with a piece of tissue paper to see how much it transfers..
see for yourself.
if anything, it merely removes the layer of sheen.
this is not a stain however, because if i rub it, the colour will come off.


i wouldn't call this a matte finish, it's more of a velvety finish to me,
but that slight sheen does wear off over time and it do become a truly matte finish.



225 sultry is a dark red/plum/brown kind of wine shade.
it's application is similar to unapologetic, smooth and pigmented.
the shade after 1 swipe only appears to be lighter than it actually it because of the reflected light.


there is also a slight sheen to it.
it's a very wearable darker lip colour!


this is how it looks like after eating.
some of the colour did come off (especially on the centre of the lips), but most part of it stayed intact!

IMHO:
this line of balm stain will soon become my favourite line if they decide to release a dozen more colours. i can't guarantee i won't buy more colours in the future!
i love the colour pay off and its application, unlike the other revlon matte lipstick that i own (which is harder to apply because the bullet is so rock hard), the matte balm feels like butter in comparison.
they last surprisingly well on the lips, even after i blotted it the colour hardly transferred!

How to enlarge your eyes with makeup

people always say make up does wonder, and boy it sure do!!!
with a little help from circle lenses, falsies, and eyeshadow, everyone can get bigger eyes!
do note that this look will require double eye lid tape if you have narrower double eyelid folds, this is because the added double lid width will add "height" to your eyes, making them look bigger.

i actually cut up a piece of false lash to get the pair of demi lashes,
just make sure the original lash is shorter on the outside and longer at the center.



the eyeshadow palette used for this look is the gradical eyes palette from kate,
it allows me to achieve a smooth gradient across my eyes easily :)

COLOUR MAP_______________________________________________________


1. apply the eyeshadow base A over the entire lid.
2. apply B, the highlighting shae on the centre of the lid.
3. using D to contour the eye lid fold/crease area.
4. add more depth to the outer corner of the eyes using E.


1. apply E onto the outer half of the lower lash line.
2. mix B and C together to highlight the inner corner and the inner half of the lower lash line.
3. using the liquid liner (5), draw tiny strokes on the lower lid to make it look like long lashes.
4. apply the pink highlighter pen (4) to the lower water line to open up the eyes.


when apply the falsh lash, extend it beyond the original lash line slightly as shown in the image above,
this will lengthen your eyes!
i also stuck them slightly away from my lash line towards the end to open up my eyes more.


the lashes look quite subtle form the front even though from the top it looks long and kind of unnatural.
the longer ends pulls the eyes longer, making them look bigger than they actually is :P

another gorgeous palette from kate!
i haven't been buying new palettes from them ever since the dual blend eyes, because i feel that their palettes were kind of repeating then.

this palette is different. i tried it and realized the finish is so different from what they used to offer.
but you know what sealed the deal?
THIS IS A ROSE GOLD KINDA SHADE,
and i've been looking for one for quite some time..
only to realize this is exactly what i've wanted!

this is a 5 colour eyeshadow palette, leaning towards the peachy/rose gold kind of brown.
very very flattering.
kate eyeshadows never fail to amaze me with their softness and pigmentation.

the plastic case is beautifully embossed to resembled jewels. they're still using the sleek black case, i'm glad they stuck with this because i really like its cool image :)





the powder is pressed into a jewel cut shape too! oh so pretty!


at the back of the plastic packaging is a set of instructions that teaches you how to wear this palette.

going from left to right:
the highlight color (A) is a pigmented pearly white/beige colour,
the shiny color (B) is neutral brown that has a foil finish,
the shiny medium color (C) is a light peachy gold shade, also with a foil finish,
the medium color (D) is a rose gold shade, metallic/shimmery finish,
the dark color (E) is a blackish brown that has a satin finish, speckled with some micro glitter.

on my eyes:





JUST LOOK AT THAT FROSTED/METALLIC/FOIL FINISH! (those are from the 2 shiny colours)
i applied using my finger so the intensity is really mind blowing.

IMHO:
i've already had several brown eyeshadow palettes, but i do not have a rose gold palette!
this fulfills my wants..
and i love the foil finish of the shiny colour!
i can't wait to create high contrast more looks with this palette!
all of the shades are buttery smooth and applies really well.
pigmented and blends like butter.
i'm most amazed by the highlight colour, because this is almost as intense as a highlighting pen!!!
you know what, i'm amazed by ALL the shades. the foil shades are just gorgeous, that rose gold shade is lovely, and the liner shade is dark and smooth, just the way i like it to be.

soft and buttery eyeshadow powder are my favourite, and i didn't experience any fall outs with this.
how can i not love kate's eyeshadow palettes?

L'oreal Color Riche Lipstick P511 Touch of Amaranth

firstly, a girl can never have too many lipsticks even though we only have 1 pair of lips.
secondly, you'd think "just how many different shades of red, pink, corals, and plums are there?", my answer is.. almost close to the number of stars in the universe. HAHAHAH!

the l'oreal color riche lipstick impresses me with its classy packaging, shiny shiny gold casing (it does attract finger prints though, but hey, that's life!), with a plastic "jewel" that reflects the colour of the lipstick within. sorry, i know i'm getting carried away by it's appearance.. but packaging do matter!
of course, what matters the most is still what's inside.
i am in love: a super creamy formula and awesome pigmentation.

the lipstick is unscented.

my bare lips vs after applying the lipstick.

P511 is a bright blue based hot pink with no shimmer or glitter, JUST PURE COLOUR. what can i say, this lipstick is SUPER PIGMENTED! no signs of my original lip colour after application.
i prefer to have a softer lip line, so i applied the lipstick onto the inner part of my lips before blending it out to achieve this effect. the inner parts shows the true intensity of the lipstick.

the lipstick melts onto my lips smoothly and glides over it to deposit a thin layer of product, hence the lightweight feel of the overall application. the colour is really intense considering how much product there is on my lips (it feels close to nothing!). this is a creamy finish lipstick, but it's not slick like the revlon lip butter. it feels like the chanel rouge coco shine actually, but packed with even more pigments than that! the sheen does wear off over some time to reveal a matte lip colour.

this lipstick is unscented.


don't this shade look gorgeous!? i think it is able to bright up my entire skin tone!

IMHO:
i daresay i love everything about this lipstick. the colour, the application, the finish, as well as the wear time. even though this is a creamy formula and i do expect to get transfers, if i do decide to blot it with a tissue paper after fresh application, it will get most of the oils out of the lipstick and what remains is a thin layer of pigments on my lip - looking very much like a stain, and that stain lasts the entire day. after prolong wear, the sheen will wear off on it's own and i get the same effect as blotting it off with the tissue. this product did not emphasize my lip lines, nor did it visibly settle into any of them. i love using this to create korean makeup as the matte stain makes it look like it's my natural lip colour :X fake it until i make it!

it stains the lips a great deal. good for you if you don't like to touch up your lip colour. bad for people who tries to scrub it off at the end of the day!
